The Takefu International Music Festival is the only music festival in Japan that simultaneously holds a week-long composition workshop.
We welcome world-renowned composers as instructors and open up “new horizons” in music from Takefu.
Event period: August 31, 2026 (Monday) to September 5, 2026 (Saturday)
Venue: Echizen City Labor Welfare Hall, Echizen City Cultural Center, etc.
Contents: Lectures by instructor composers and performers, public composition lessons, listening sessions, discussions, lectures on instruments, observation of rehearsals, concert viewing, etc.
Lecturers: Toshio Hosokawa (Music Director of Takefu International Music Festival), Noriko Baba, Francesco Filidei, Naoki Sakata, Hristina Šušak
Participants: Capacity 30 people Tuition fee: 40,000 yen for the whole period, 8,000 yen for one day (*Does not include food, accommodation, or transportation expenses)
